Question 7- Who is the target audience and how does the trailer appeal to them. Give examples and then look at how this will affect your trailer and target audience?

The cabin in the woods has a core audience of both male and female age ranging between 15 and 30. This group of people are ones who like to be made jump and like to be made feel threatened and frightened by the film itself.

There is a key USP in this film that draws some of the audience in and they are the Chris Hemsworth fan base. He has become an A list star and has featured in Snow white and the huntsman play lead role of the huntsman. He has also featured in the avengers playing Thor.

So to sum up the cabin in the woods appeals to the audience because:

Ø  Horror genre
Ø  Star – Chris Hemsworth
Ø  Hybrid genre – horror/ sci-fi
Ø  Modern horror

From looking at the cabin in the woods as a group we have decided that we will use ideas of target audience they are:

Ø  Horror genre (slasher)
Ø  Young teenage cast
Ø  Appeal to the age audience of 15 – 30 year old
Ø  Appeal to the male and female gender

The Women in Black

6.Consider your own film and think about locations , ideas , music , techniques that are used in this film that you could use in your own trailer?

locations
there are a lot of very scary and

7. Find 5 reviews of the women in black and summarise in 200 hundred words the general opinion of the film.

It is an old school ghost movie where the skills lie in showing less rather than more. The adaptation has been running in theatres for the past 23years and they are hoping the release of this film will bring new audiences. The 1989 televised adaptation or the stage play do not stay entirely faithful to the novel, neither does this film but it takes us on a journey to some dark places. This film is entirely right for our times. It is also said to be reminiscent of the 1970s Gothic horror films. This film feels less like a remake than a new reading of an old story. It’s a very character driven movie which focuses not only on frightening people but also on how different people deal with death. Daniel Radcliffe brings a sizable audience from his role as Harry Potter, which has made it the UK's most successful homegrown horror in decades. On the other hand some people are still undecided whether Daniel Radcliffe can sustain a rewarding acting career away from Hogwarts, which I think he has proved and done just that. Overall it is a well-rounded film which is well written with a great plot and excellent acting.

I have also included a page of what we are looking to put on our own poster.
