Wednesday 12/12/12 - Filming images and review
These images here show us filming in action at our location.
On wednesday we did filming from 12.30 till 4, we got a majority of the filming done the outcome of our clips were strong we now had the structure of our horror movie, After reviewing the clips with the group and our lecturer we decided we had enough footage to complete our trailer. The next step will be using imovie to cut down , edit and perfect our horror trailer.
Location Shots
inside the caravan.
A lean to / shelter on the front of the shack and all the things inside of it .
The shack/house attached to the side of the caravan.
The outside of the caravan where the killer is located.
The walkway we used for the most of the 3 series of days filming .
These images above are showing the location of our trailer, this woodland is Catherington Lith in Catheringtion located right next to Jess's house so it is an easy location to get to and know very well by Jess. Is a great location because of the creepy caravan which is the home of our woodland killer.
17/12/12 - Media lesson 'rough cut'
On monday 17th December, we got together as a group and uploaded/watched our footage. We then put the clips into a 'rough cut' as seen above.

Filming - 1st Shoot
On our 1st shoot, we decided to shoot the scene where Jess walks her dog passed the caravan. The first photo shows how we set the scene up and where we placed the camera. We had Jess's dad behind the tree in front of the caravan so when Jess and her dog walked passed, the dog would look at him from behind the tree and start to bark. We also took some photos of the location. This scene was harder to film as we thought it would be, as it took quite a while to get the dog to bark. However, this is going to happen when working with any animals as it isn't certain they are always going to do things how you expect. In the end we managed to get some footage to work with and good recordings of the dog barking.
Next week we need to make sure we bring some paper so we can clearly see the different scenes when editing.
New Synopsis
The trailer starts with showing the events of a series of 3 days of Jess passing trhough the woodland. On the 3rd day Jess joggs past the creepy caravan she hears a noise from inside it. She convinces herself nothing is there and its only her imagination and carry's on with her run. but as she continues on she is still hearing and seeing things to make her feel uncomfortable Jess becomes more and more spooked by the on going stalking and stops to catch her breath, but Jess being herself wants to prove everyone wrong about the myth of the woodland stalker shouts out for a reply , with this she is crept up on by the stalking killer when Jess is least expecting it .
Storyline Update
After filming on monday 3rd december with jess's dog in Catherington Lith we discovered Jess's dog needed an operation and would be out of action for 6 weeks meaning we could now longer use him. With this dilemma we had to come up with a new story line very quickly. Together we decided on a new story which would mean we only had to tweak the original one by just removing the scenes with the dog and using different reasons for jess to be walking in the woods alone.
Sound effects
Here is a list of sound effects we are looking at using within our trailer.
These sounds are of breaking glass.

• The purpose of criticism, review or reporting. This does not allow a photograph to the copied for news reporting.
Our trailer
When choosing our sound effects we need to make them relivant to the horror genre and specifically to our tailer. Running in leaves would be a good sound effect for our tailer as we are basing our tailer in the woods, therefore there will need to be a lot of running sounds and ambiant noices.
Music is very important in a trailer or film and especially the horror genre. If you muted a horror film and watched it, there would be no fear factor. This is because the music builds up the tension and enhances the noices you hear. During the jumpy sence the music will become loud and sudden to make you jump.
